Lido Beach
Wide Gulf sand a short walk from St. Armands Circle, and one of the easier beaches to enjoy in summer.
Why Lido in summer
Lido Beach sits just over the bridge from downtown Sarasota, and in summer it is one of the easier Gulf beaches to enjoy without a fight for space. The winter crowds have thinned, the water is warm, and the sand runs wide and soft right next to St. Armands Circle.
Parking and getting there
Lido is generally calmer than Siesta Key, but weekends still fill up, so aim to arrive in the morning. There is free street parking along Benjamin Franklin Drive when spaces open up. The easiest move on a busy day is the free Breeze trolley: park downtown and ride out to Lido and back, with no parking stress at all. One heads up for 2026, a stretch of the smaller lot can be closed for beach renourishment work, so keep a backup in mind.
Make a day of it
You are a short walk from St. Armands Circle, so it is easy to pair a morning on the sand with lunch, ice cream, and a little shopping. Stay into the evening and you get one of the best sunset views on the coast.
If it is packed
On the busiest summer weekends, Nokomis Beach to the south or Venice Beach a bit further down are reliable fallbacks with easier parking.
